Thames Water & Clewer Hill Rd

By Councillor Alison Carpenter

This morning, Cllr Helen Price and I had a productive meeting with Thames Water’s Head of Operational Excellence and Area Manager to tackle long-standing issues in our wards, particularly Clewer Hill Road which is shared across two wards – Clewer East and Clewer & Dedworth East. 🚧💧

Over the past 5 years, Thames Water has been called out over 100 times (31 in the last 12 months alone!) to address problems on Clewer Hill Road. Thanks to the efforts of Jack Rankin MP, who organised the call, and contributions from Council Leader Simon Werner and Joshua Reynolds MP, Thames Water has committed to a major £750k investment! 🙌

In 2025, a 350-metre stretch of Clewer Hill Road will be dug up and replaced with new equipment, aiming to finally solve these recurring issues. 🛠️ The project will take 4-6 weeks, with work likely to begin in Q2 next year.

We’ve also discussed potential road disruptions, and Thames Water has pledged to keep the council and residents informed. Regular meetings will ensure road closures are planned well in advance. We even flagged the impact this could have on Official LEGOLAND Windsor traffic, and they’ll be looped in to help visitors navigate alternate routes.

While the work might cause some temporary inconvenience, the long-term benefits for our communities will be well worth it! We’re thrilled that Thames Water has listened to us, and we’d like to extend our thanks to Jack Rankin MP, Simon Werner, and Josh Reynolds MP for their support and time.

Stay tuned for updates! We will aim to keep you informed every step of the way so please follow my page if you will be impacted by this.
